Funeral Basket

The Funeral Basket is a concrete and respectful gesture to support a grieving family in Haiti from the diaspora. Carefully composed to meet the needs of funeral gatherings, it brings together essential food, meat, and drinks to properly nourish the assembled loved ones — delivered directly to the location, so that your presence can be felt even from a distance.

Basket contents:

1. White Rice – 16 pots: High-quality white rice, an essential accompaniment to feed all those gathered during funeral wakes and meals.
2. Choice of Beans – 4 pots: Beans of your choice to prepare a generous sticky rice or a comforting bean sauce to accompany each meal.
3. Corn / ground corn – 8 pots: Ground corn to prepare traditional Haitian recipes and vary the dishes served at the gathering.
4. Oil – 2 gallons: Quality cooking oil, essential for frying, sautéing, and seasoning all preparations.
5. Maggi Seasoning – 2 boxes: Maggi bouillon cubes, the essential seasoning to enhance the flavor of all prepared dishes.
6. White Chicken – 4 units: Fresh white chickens to stew or grill and serve a main course worthy of large tables.
7. Goat – 1 unit: Whole goat to prepare a rich and flavorful traditional stew, the central dish of the community meal.
8. Herring – 1 case: Salted herrings to enrich sauces and accompaniments, an authentic flavor of Haitian cuisine.
9. Water – 48 containers: A large quantity of purified water for cooking, preparing dishes, and hydrating all guests throughout the days of gathering.
10. Soft Drinks – 2 cases: Sparkling drinks to quench the thirst of loved ones and offer a moment of comfort during this difficult period.
